Best city commuter e-bikes from current Fiido and Tenways pages: an in-stock step-through, a sold-out belt drive, and a weight the page states three ways.

Quick picks

From manufacturer specs

  1. 01 · In-stock step-through

    Fiido C11 Pro

54 lb, 250W rear hub, 55 Nm in the marketing copy, 499.2Wh, up to 65 miles. The standard build was $1,209 and in stock.

Best for: The commute is a step-through you can order now, with a battery size and a mile claim on the same page.

Skip it if: You need a belt drive, or a bike under 40 pounds. This one is 54 pounds.

    $1,209$1,979

  2. 02 · Belt drive, sold out

    Tenways CGO800S

350W rear hub, 45 Nm, Gates belt, single speed, up to 53 miles, full weight 51 lb. The battery is 36V 10.4Ah, and watt-hours are not printed. Every color was unavailable.

Best for: You want a belt and a 20 mph top speed, and you can wait for stock.

Skip it if: You need it this week, or you need a watt-hour figure. The spec page does not print watt-hours.

    $1,699$1,999

View at Tenways (opens in a new tab)
  3. 03 · Cruiser, 85 mile claim

    Tenways Wayfarer

750W peak, 65 Nm, 720Wh, up to 85 miles pedal assist, full weight 66 lb. Both colors were in stock. The page calls it a cruiser, not a step-through.

Best for: The commute is long, a cruiser is fine, and you want the largest battery in this table.

Skip it if: You need a step-through or a printed rider height. This page has neither.

    $1,699$2,199

  4. 04 · Light, weight left blank

    Fiido C21

250W, 208.8Wh, up to 62.14 miles, $1,099, in stock in three sizes. Weight is blank because the page says 38.5, 38.58, and 38.6 pounds, plus 17.5 kg.

Best for: You want the lower price and a small battery, and you will not trust a single weight until the page picks one.

Skip it if: You need one published weight, or a step-through the spec list actually names. The title and the filter tag disagree.

    $1,099$1,979

  5. 05 · 500W, gears left blank

    Fiido C11

The drive unit says 500W. The battery is 499.2Wh. Range on the comparison table is 56.44 miles. Gearing is blank because the page says both 7-speed and 6-speed.

Best for: You want the $1,099 step-through and you can live with a gear count the page does not settle.

Skip it if: You need a torque sensor or a single gear range. The sensor is a speed sensor, and the cog line disagrees with the shifter line.

A city commute is the round trip, the step over the frame, and whether you can lock the bike where you arrive. The lightest bike is a different question. A 30 pound bike with a small battery can lose to a 54 pound step-through that prints a larger pack.

This best city commuter e-bikes shortlist uses Fiido and Tenways pages checked October 19, 2026. At time of writing, in October 2026, the in-stock step-through with a battery size and a mile claim is the Fiido C11 Pro. The Tenways CGO800S is the belt-drive bike, and it was sold out. The Wayfarer is the cruiser with the 85 mile claim. The C21 is the cheap light-looking bike whose weight we will not pick for the page. The C11 is the 500W sibling with a gear-count conflict. We have not ridden them.

Bikes under about 40 pounds with one published weight are the lightweight commuter guide. A low step-through that is already on that page, including the Engwe L20 2.0, is the step-through guide. A folder you have to carry is the folding guide. The belt on the CGO800S, and the other belt listings, are the belt-drive guide. The commuter hub is this page.

What the commute is asking

Miles, then a margin. The C11 Pro title says up to 65 miles. The CGO800S says up to 53. The Wayfarer says up to 85 pedal assist and 35 on the throttle. The C21 says up to 62.14 miles on a 208.8Wh battery. The C11 comparison table says 56.44 miles. Plan under the claim. We have not ridden the route.

A step-through the page names. The C11 Pro spec frame says a 700C step-through city frame. The C11 says the same. The Wayfarer says cruiser and does not say step-through. The CGO800S description says upright and the spec page does not say step-through. The C21 title says step through and the filter tag says step-over, so the cell is blank.

A lock and a battery you can charge. The C11 Pro comparison table marks the battery removable. The C21 comparison table marks it not removable. If the page does not say the pack comes off, assume you are charging the whole bike.

Fiido C11 Pro

At time of writing in October 2026, the Fiido C11 Pro (opens in a new tab) standard build was $1,209, from $1,979, and in stock. The City Edition was $1,319, with no compare-at price, and in stock. This row is the standard build.

The spec list says 54 pounds, a 264 pound payload, a 250W drive unit, and a 499.2Wh battery. Marketing copy on the same page calls it a rear hub and 55 Nm. The sensor is a Mivice S200 torque sensor. The title says up to 65 miles. The comparison table says 64.85 miles. A feature line calls the 65 mile figure eco mode. The table uses 65. The page says IP54. Tires are 700 by 40C. The comparison table also prints 27.6 by 1.57 inch, the same tire in inches. Gearing is Shimano 7-speed, 52 tooth, 14–28. Brakes are dual-piston hydraulic discs. Rider height is 5 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 5 inches. The throttle line says 6 km/h. A class number is not printed.

Fifty-four pounds is a city bike you roll, not a stair bike. The lightweight guide is the carry.

Tenways CGO800S

The Tenways CGO800S (opens in a new tab) in Pebble Grey, Sky Blue, and Deep Pink was $1,699, from $1,999, and unavailable. Midnight Black was $1,999 with no compare-at price, and also unavailable. The spec page says a Mivice M080 350W rear hub and 45 Nm. A peak watt is not printed. The sensor is a Mivice S200B torque sensor. Top speed is 20 mph. Range is up to 53 miles. A class number is not printed.

The battery line is 36V 10.4Ah. Watt-hours are not printed, so that cell is blank. We did not multiply the voltage by the amp-hours. Net weight is 46 pounds. Full weight is 51 pounds. Max load is 264 pounds. The table uses 51. Tires are CST 700 by 48C. The drivetrain is a Gates belt, single speed. Brakes are Tektro hydraulic discs. The fork is an SR Suntour. The description says relaxed upright geometry. It does not say step-through, and it does not print a rider height.

A belt and a 20 mph cap is a path-and-lane commuter. It is not a bike you can buy from an empty variant list.

Tenways Wayfarer

The Tenways Wayfarer (opens in a new tab) was $1,699, from $2,199, on November 2, 2026, and both colors were in stock. The October 19 cart was $1,799. Full weight is 66 pounds. The motor line is 750W peak and 65 Nm. The battery is 720Wh. Pedal-assist range is up to 85 miles. The page calls it a cruiser. The long-range touring guide leads with the same mile figure. Here it is the comfort commuter, not a step-through.

Fiido C21

The Fiido C21 (opens in a new tab) standard build was $1,099, from $1,979, and in stock in M, L, and XL. The extender was $1,419, from $1,979, and the cart label says 200 km. A mile figure for that extender is not printed.

The figures that do not fight each other: a Mivice M080 250W drive unit, a 208.8Wh battery, a claim of up to 62.14 miles (also written as 100 km), a 264 pound payload, L-TWOO 9-speed, 52 tooth, 11–32, and Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic discs. The page filter tags it a rear hub. Torque of 22 Nm is the comparison table. The comparison table marks the battery not removable. M is 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 9 inches, L is 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet 5 inches, and XL is 6 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 9 inches.

Weight stays blank. So does frame style. A 62 mile claim on 208.8Wh is a large claim for a small pack. We are printing it as Fiido's number.

Fiido C11

The Fiido C11 (opens in a new tab) standard build was $1,099, from $1,209, and in stock in emerald blue and white. The City Edition was $1,209 and in stock. The spec drive unit says 500W. The comparison table's Motor cell is 55 Nm. The sensor is a 12-magnet speed sensor. The battery is 499.2Wh. The comparison table says 56.44 miles. Weight is 54 pounds. Payload is 264 pounds. The frame line says a step-through. Tires are 700 by 40C.

Gearing is blank. The shifter line says 7-speed. The rear-cog line says 6-speed, 14–28. We did not pick one. If you need a settled gear range, the C11 Pro's spec list says 7-speed, 14–28, in one place.

Heavier folding commuters, including the Engwe L20 3.0, are already in the folding guide. A rider past 6 feet 5 inches is outside the C11 Pro's printed height. That question is the tall-rider guide. This page does not re-rank them.

A dash means the page left it out, or two lines disagreed. The C21 weight dash and the C11 gear dash are disagreements. The CGO800S battery dash is a missing watt-hour line. The page did print 36V 10.4Ah.

How to choose without a test ride

If you can order a step-through this week and 54 pounds is acceptable, the C11 Pro is the row with one gear range and a torque sensor. If you want a belt and you can wait, the CGO800S is the row, and the watt-hours are still blank. If the trip is long and a cruiser is fine, the Wayfarer prints 85 miles and 720Wh. If the price is $1,099 and the weight must be a single number, the C21 is not that bike yet.

Prices were on the brand pages on October 19, 2026. Check the button.

Accessories

A commuter needs a helmet before the first ride, lights, and a lock. The folding lock can live at a bottle cage. The U-lock is the longer shackle. We have not tested these on these bikes.

Amazon disclosure. As an Amazon Associate, eBike Research earns from qualifying purchases. These are Amazon links. You do not pay extra. Check the current price on Amazon. We have not tested these accessories.

What we are not saying

Five city listings from two brands, not every commuter e-bike. We are not ranking by commission. The order is an in-stock step-through with a settled spec list, a sold-out belt drive, the cruiser with the longest mile claim, the light bike whose weight we refused to choose, and the cheaper sibling with a gear conflict. Engwe's folding commuters stay on the folding and step-through pages.

Spec sources

Every number in the table comes from one of these manufacturer pages. Retailer and review sites were not used as spec sources.

Questions

What is the difference between a city commuter and a lightweight commuter?

Lightweight on this site means a published weight under about 40 pounds. The C11 Pro is 54 pounds. The CGO800S full weight is 51 pounds. The Wayfarer full weight is 66 pounds. Those can still be the right commute. They are the wrong answer to the lightweight page. The C21 might be light, and the page states too many weights to put one in the cell.

Does the Fiido C11 Pro really do 65 miles?

The title says up to 65 miles. The comparison table says 64.85 miles. A feature line calls it eco mode. That is Fiido's claim. We have not measured it. The battery on the spec list is 499.2Wh.

Why is the C21 not in the lightweight guide?

The lightweight guide left it out because the page does not state one weight. On October 19, 2026 it still said 38.6 pounds in the spec list, 38.5 pounds in a feature line, 38.58 pounds in an FAQ, and 17.5 kg in the short description. The browser title says step through. The filter tag says step-over. The cell stays blank.

Is the Tenways CGO800S a step-through?

The product description says a relaxed upright geometry. The spec page does not say step-through and does not print a rider height, so the frame cell is blank. It was also unavailable in every color we checked.

Were these bikes test ridden?

No. The eBike Research team has not ridden them. Specs are from the brand pages on October 19, 2026.
